Sandi Thom - Smile It Confuses People

One of our favorite clients (Susan Hunt) sent us a little YouTube link of Sandi Thom.  We checked it out and immediately fell in love with this girls music.  Her little diddy "I wish I was a Punk Rocker" is a little anthem to all of us that remember when cell phones were called Car Phones, MTV really did play music and computers were only in the library.
Check out her track at YouTube:
And buy the album because the rest of the tracks are as cool as this one.
God Bless Texas and God Bless Johnny Cash!

Influences

Recently we had our logo worked on and we finalized it this week.  The mark is super slick and cool but we are not fully unveiling it just yet.  With the new mark comes new marketing, cards, demo CDs etc etc.  I was creating new business cards for myself and decided to use old pictures.  Below are four of my favorites.  It really shows that the influences of being an easy going BBQ lovin, music dancing leisurely guy started at a very young age.

Hanging by the water, fishing and smoking.  Ahhh, good times good times.

Did someone say Rodeo!? Go TEXAN BABY!

Can you hear it "It Must Be Ladies Night"

And lastly me with the BBQ King himself.  Paw Paw showing me how its done.

Jason and Moran

Saturday Farrah and I photographed Jason and Moran's Party of Love! We had an absolute blast hanging out with this family.  Recently we were inspired by those kids in Cali from Image Is Found to setup a photo booth.  (Thanks for the inspiration guys).  We set things up towards the end of the night and captured the absolute core of this Par-T.  Check out the slide show below.

The happy couple.

 The instigators of WACKY-TIME

The totally ridiculous slide show.

Meka + Mario

In November Farrah and I photographed Meka and Mario's wedding.  We are busy trying to get everything caught up from the last few weddings we photographed.  These kids threw a great party with the theme being KEWL.

Mario and his groomsmen were pretty cool to hang out with.  They were all real laid back and showed me a thing or two about being cool.

When the party started to wind down the guys all started smoking these big ol cee-gars.

There was smoke everywhere so I pulled out the wide angle toys and went to town.

They decorated the outside with the large glass vases full of giant sparklers.  It was an awesome sight seeing everyone with the things.  Mekas dad was playing with one out in the parking lot so I took this long exposure of LUV.

Be sure and check out my partner in crimes blog for more pictures of the wedding.

Big Cameras in the studio

Last week my buddy Chris Newlin from Eclectic Productions needed some portraits done.  Most photographers despise having their photo taken and Chris was no exception.  So we had to cool it up a bit and come up with some real sexy images for his new website.

Right now the weather here is awesome and so we take advantage every chance we get.  We took a few outside.  This is one large camera.

This is Chris in his "I am a sexy hotty hot hot and you all know it" look.

Then finally we pulled the "I won't take crap off you or anyone else in this room" look.

Chris had a few others but he wouldn't show me.  He said they were not ready for the public yet.  I'm sure his modeling career is going to take off like a rocket now but I try hard not to take credit for that.

If your looking for video production work than this is the guy in town to work with!

Megan and Phillip (and Linus too)

This afternoon Farrah and I photographed Megan and Phillip.  We are shooting their wedding in April at the Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral.  Today we played, April we will party!

First up was a stop at this totally spectacular church.  The weather was great and the sky was as blue as my baby girls eyes.

We played all over the place.

Megan likes her men tall.

This is the weather that people move to Houston for.

These kids are having their reception at the Majestic Metro downtown.  We hung out around there a bit until it just got a little too creepy.

McLovin my fish eye toys.

Giving the "sexy time" looks.

The Metro has air conditioning too.

After we had our fill of advice form people downtown we headed back to my studio and played some more outside.

We brought out the big man Linus too.  He was real interested in the cameras.

We had fun guys!  Hope you love your images.

A New Shinning Face at Danny Clark Photography

We wanted to introduce to you our latest smile to join the crew at Danny Clark Photography.

Brittany is a student at the University of Houston working towards her degree in Business Marketing.  She will be helping us around the studio and working on our high school seniors marketing programs.  I think her hardest job is going to be making sure I don't do something silly or double book an appointment.  So far she has made it through a number of Chris Newlin's (from Eclectic productions) jokes so I am sure she will do just fine.

Welcome to Texas Little Ms. Violet

Today I had the honor of photographing Violet's first day.  She was actually born on January 7th but I got there within the first day.  Everyone was all excited about the new baby.  I love these sessions because we really focus on Dad.

This little one was pretty easy going.  She had a beautiful round head too with lots of soft wispy hair.

Dad was all smiles and we enjoyed playing with the window light. Here is a little fun we had with a few of the images.

Welcome to the world Violet.  We are happy you made it safely.

Melissa & Chad

Before the crazy Holiday season Farrah and I photographed Melissa and Chads wedding at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral.  This is a pretty cool church but as always long fast lenses are helpful.  These were a few of my favorites form the ceremony.

These kids were not allowed to move around much.

The shoes say I'm classy but the feet say "MAN THESE SHOES HURT".

Before the wedding me and the guys took some portraits outside.  This church is in the middle of downtown right on a main street.  This guy came up to me and asked if I could take a picture of a picture.  I didn't know if he was a guest or not so I obliged.  Funny what people will ask you to do at a wedding.

The popular ring shot.  Its the expressions on the grooms face I love the most.

The reception was at the River Oaks Garden Club.  Denise and I looked there when we were getting married.  This is a very nice place when the weather is right.  These guys really lucked out that day.

Melissa and I hung out and took a few pictures in the window light.  She was having a really good time and looked beautiful.

The first dance is probably my favorite thing to photograph at the wedding.

When the wedding ended they pulled a truck around to gather up all the wedding loot.  God Bless Texas and big red trucks!

The party ended at the Garden Center but it continued on downtown.  These guys had a lot of fun and we wish them both all the best in their future.
