Halloween Fund Raiser - We Are Out For Blood!

On Halloween Danny Clark Photography and Hip Hop Lollipop are hosting a fundraiser for Hermann Memorial Children's Hospital.  In addition, the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will have a blood mobile on-site ready to SUCK YOUR BLOOD!

Here is how all this wackiness will work.

When:  From 2 until 9 PM on Halloween day (That's Friday, October 31st)

Where:  Halloween Portraits will be taken inside Hip Hop Lollipop:  Located at 6207 Edloe.

How Much:  Each person in the picture must provide a new children's book to donate to the Hermann Children's Hospital Library or pay $5.00.

What you get:  Aside from the warmth in your heart from helping children, you also get a 5X7 super creepy portrait per person in the portrait.

Now how about that BLOOD?  Well we also hooked up with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to collect blood donations from 4 to 8 PM.  Here is the cool part. ----->  If you donate blood we will give you a $100 Danny Clark Photography gift certificate for your use any way you like.  (This certificate has no cash value and can only be used towards services and retail products at the studio.  Can not be exchanged for cash-- Legal stuff we gotta say) and a discount coupon to Hip Hop Lollipop.  If you plan on giving blood, please call us at the studio to schedule a time. 713-942-2272.

Help us meet our goal by filling every 15 minute slot available.

This is going to be a lot of fun, so bring out the family in their cutest, scariest, silliest costumes you can find.  And you never know.  We just might give a little something extra for the best costume of the night.

To get the full detail flyer please check out THIS CREEPY LINK.  Its printable so feel free to pass it around!  Have fun and give for a wonderful cause.

Cool Swag For Christmas

The Holiday season accounts for over 70% of our business throughout the year.  Because of the demand during the holidays we have to get our Christmas shopping done early and efficiently.   I recently was shopping online for some hip swag to wrap my offspring in and came across two very cool items.

First up was this ridiculously cool site called My Baby Rocks.  One item I was in love with was this 80's boom box throwback.

Just thinking that this was my version of an ipod growing up cracks me up.   But that is not the end of it.  If your a Star Wars Fan like the rest of the world than Mark Ecko has got you hooked up this winter.  Check out his entire line of Star Wars Couture.  I must say, the Storm Trooper and Boba Fett hoodies are the baddest!

That's all the coolness I have found thus far.  Keep on keeping on everyone!

Blessing of the Pets at St. Pauls United Methodist Church

Sunday afternoon St. Paul's United Methodist Church held its Blessing of the Pets service.  This was a spectacular service to the Clark's because Whitney was singing for the first time in front of a live audience!

The Blessing of the Pets service is held outdoors in the courtyard.  James and I hung out watching all the dogs and cats walking around.  Even the Houston Police Department showed up for a Blessing too!

These guys were ultra cool.  James just about wet himself so I asked if we could take a picture with the horses.  James didn't want to get too close but.

Once the Choir came out I headed over to get a couple images of Whitney.

She looked a little nervous but we were proud to see that she was front and center!

I told her I wanted her to stop growing but she just turned away like I was embarrassing her.

When the service begins everyone with a mobile pet parades the courtyard.  This was pretty funny watching the chaos of dogs, cats and horses.

Some of the pups were enthusiastic about their photos being taken.

I found a pretty good place to stand during the service.  It was a beautiful weather and loads of fun.

I caught a blog stalker taking my photo while I was taking photos of Whitney.

Whitney did a great job singing.  She was proud of herself and we were too.

Ballerina Day Recap

Last Thursday , Friday and Saturday we had a super silly good time with all the little ballerina's that came by for our Ballerina Day Promotion.  As we have been working on the images I went through and picked some of my favorites!  We hope all the tiny dancers enjoyed their sessions!

The Allen girls waltzed in with beautiful smiles and wonderful personalities!

Little Miss Ari was melting everyone around her with those beautiful big brown eyes.

Chunk Alert!  Whitney was a chunky little one like this when she was a baby.  Calleigh is such a sweet little thing with the coolest family.  Her brother Dax helped me take these pictures too.

These two little princesses are always a lot of fun to photograph!  Abigail is the bomb with her daredevil self standing on the stool.

A couple more little sisters came by to enjoy in the dance off.  These two girly girls were so different it was cool.  The younger sister, Samantha was an enthusiastic poser.

Stella had the most beautiful curly hair and stunning blue eyes.  I tried to explain to her that I have naturally UNcurly hair but she was not very amused.

Towards the end of the day we had back to back Reagan's join us.  The first Reagan was quiet, sweet and subdued.  She was an experienced ballerina and knew how to be poised.

The second Reagan that joined us was a ball of fire!  She was ready to have her picture taken and couldn't be sillier.  Her mom and dad had just as much fun watching her dance around as I did photographing her.  I think this was the only image taken of her not moving or talking.

That is all for right now.  There are lots more to get to but I will have to update this post later.  Hope everyone that came had a great time!

Impromptu - Houston

A few months back I noticed a little shop down the street from us.  The shop is called Impromptu and is probably one of the coolest little gift boutiques we have found in a while!

Impromptu is located right on the corner of Bissonet and Morningside.  Denise stopped in one day and came out with some hilarious file folders that I used in a clown session.  They would make a great coworker or boss's gift.  After that I just had to go in there to see what else they had.  That is when I had the pleasure of meeting the proprietors, Barbara Feig and Mollie Gremillion.  These two ladies are the coolest and truly love what they have put together.  If you were wondering where the name, Impromptu came from, it basically represents the nature of their spare of the moment decision to design an eclectic, distinct gift and accessory boutique.

Impromptu offers a number of items that are made by local artists, as well as a few out of town artists too.  One hot item they carry is DePetra handmade jewelry.

They also carry a bunch of great pottery that is locally made by Ann the Potter.

Even our Houston dog lovers can find something to buy at Impromptu.  I thought these collars were pretty slick.

In order to stay a little greener, there are these great recycled leather bags that are made in Italy.  I thought they were joking when they said the leather was recycled.

If your looking for the perfect card, than this would be the place to shop.  They have a huge selection of cards and stationary that will definitely keep you laughing.

Each item and artist has a unique story about their piece and how the ladies of Impromptu came to find them.  Everything in the store is there because Barbara and Mollie see something special in the artist or the work.  From the David Webb handmade block prints to these crazy little packs of tissue paper, Impromptu has everything an art lover needs.

If you are looking for a place to get a hostess gift, teacher gift or a unique item for the hard to buy person, Impromptu should be your destination.  The art is beautiful but the hospitality and smiles of Barbara and Mollie are priceless.  Be sure to tell them we sent you!

Impromptu is located at
