Zoe at a little over 4 months

Friends and family have been asking for photos of Zoe.  We are busy trying to catch up on family time, blogs and images.  This weekend me and my little little lady spent some quality time at the studio.  Its amazing how easy a baby is to photograph when you are not surrounded by others.  It was fun getting to just tickle and play and see Zoe's little shinning face.

I am a little biased but this little star just makes your day bright.  She has this little smile that makes you think she knows more than what she is letting on.

She has the sweetest little strawberry blond hair and big blue eyes.  Its always tough when I photograph my kids because I want to get the biggest print possible.

Hope everyone has a great week.  Hopefully we will have an update on our Art car weekend later tonight!

Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings

I am a huge fan of great women like Nina Simone, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald , Koko Taylor and my super hot love affair with Amy Winehouse but recently I have a new love.  Her name is Sharon Jones and this lady gets the speakers cracked with her old school style and great songs.  The coolest thing is she was once a prison guard.  So she is not one to tangle with.

So if you looking for that smokey slow dance or that old school deep soul check out 100 Days, 100 Nights by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.

God Bless Texas and God Bless Prison Guards!

Little Big Man Fishing with the God Father

A few weeks back (yes I know, I am behind in the blogosphere) we took the kids to Uncle Chuck's place to do a little fishing.  James was wound up tighter than a golf ball to get on the water and fish with Chad.

Friday night we arrived and Chad took the kids out on the boat to get bait.

Whitney and James were so excited about fishing.  Chad got the shrimp ready and the kids got their rods.

They have this beautiful boat dock that has a huge green light for fishing at night.  The light attracts smaller shrimp and crabs thus attracting larger tastier fish.

James was all about the casting and couldn't handle just watching a bobber.  So chad put a lure on his line so he could practice.  Not two casts later he brought in his first red fish.  And then the boy along with the fish was hooked.

The next morning the girls got ready for the beach while James, Chad and I got ready for the boat.  The kids enjoyed their breakfast on the deck.

Soon after breakfast we were in the water fishing.  James looked like a natural and eased into the groove pretty nicely.  I was worried he would get bored fast but he was on a hunt and was not going to let go.

It was fun hanging with Chad and watching James get totally focused on fishing.  Apparently there is a very specific uniform you should wear while fishing.  James got the memo but I did not.  Of course shorts like these just make my butt look huge!

We were impressed with the distance James could cast.  His only limitation was the size of the rod.

Eventually James snagged himself a fish.  He was so excited he couldn't stand still.

Chad was determined to get a big one on for James and the little rod just frustrated him even more.

Eventually Chad made the executive decision to give the boy a real rig to see what he could do.

Soon after that James got himself another fish!

We had a great time with the godfather and decided to make our way back home.  It was another great opportunity for corruption and decide to let James command the boat.  Thanks Uncle Chuck for letting us borrow your boat.  James really knows how to open her up!
