Ballerina Days at the Houston Met
A couple weeks back we held a special event at The Houston Met Dance School. They are in the process of moving to a new facility and we wanted to help wit a little fund raiser. There were lots of super cute kids that came by to have a portrait done in the Big Studio. I just love the way this studio looks with its bright glass lights and old wood floors.
Here are a few of my favorites. Unfortunately I can't put every little ballerina on the blog but they were all very pretty and very elegant.
It was fun watching Michelle of the Met work with each of these little girls She is truly passionate about dance and you can see it in the concentration of each student.

As the day goes on the light changes in the room. Sometimes it has a neat brownish look. Other times it has a real glowy bright appearance too.

Even when the little ballerinas were not "posing" or "dancing" they looked beautiful.

My favorite shots were those of these young ladies in motion. It was not easy for them because every detail of their posture and facial expression is scrutinized by Michelle and myself. In the end we captured some fantastic images of ballerinas in motion.

Sisters were a big hit. I hope my two little girls get a chance to dance together. That day will just melt my heart for sure!

These two were real characters. The little sister was all smiles and giggles while the older sister was all business.

We had a super fun time photographing all the little ballerinas at the Houston Met. We are considering doing one more day in September so if you missed the event and want to get in on the action before this studio is torn down, keep an eye out here or join our mailing list and we will keep you up to date.
