Too Many Kids?

Recently, the Weber boys came to the studio for their portrait.  Monica is always fun to watch with these four boys and she manages them quite elegantly.  She told me that her oldest was giving her grief one morning last week while getting ready for school.  It was the typical battle that happens with most families on school day mornings.  In an attempt to show his hierarchy in the family, he was disagreeing with the clothes that were handed to him for the day.  Monica decided he was just going to be late for school that day and moved on to the other three boys.  Her son ended up getting to school at almost 9 AM that day and Mom made him walk by himself to the office for his late slip and on to his classroom.  That afternoon, when Monica picked up the kids she learned what her son told the school the reason for being late, "I'm sorry I am late, my mom has too many kids."

We feel lucky to have the Webers as clients.  James is so happy to have "the boys" down the street.  They are a great bunch.

Besides being an awesome mom of 4 boys, Monica is also an interior designer.  She was responsible for helping us re-design our client review and consultation room with beautiful modern custom made furniture.  If you are looking for an interior designer for your home or office, we highly recommend Monica.  She can be contacted at:

Birthday Cake Anyone?

We are so lucky when we are able to photograph families as they grow over the years.  I have been photographing the Robinsons since little Luke was being expected.  If you have come to the studio and seen our album samples, you will recognize Luke and his family from the custom designed Baby's First Year Album in which Luke is shown as he grows up through progression in a cool red chair.  He is now the big brother and we have been lucky to photograph his sisters.

The other day we had the whole gang back in for Emily & Abigail's first birthday session.  These 2 cuties have thrived over the past year.

Abigail was quite dainty when it came to getting her fingers in the cake, but Emily on the other hand, ate enough cake for the both of them.  Luke even got to get in on the sugar high.  These birthday cake sessions are really fun and unpredictable.  We never know if the kiddos are going to dig in.  We always hope for a big mess.  It is a good thing we have a big stainless sink for clean up.  We hope you guys like the preview.  We have had a lot of fun this year with one of our favorite families.

Simple Beauty - Simple Portrait

At times we get a little to extravagant with our style of photography or even our poses and it tends to become a little mundane after a while.  Recently though I have enjoyed the comfort and simplicity of a portrait.  No props, no fancy lighting, no crazy backdrops or colors.  Just a simple portrait that really shows character in the family and child.

The Raymond girls rolled up on our studio this past weekend and we managed to grab a few of these very simple portraits.  These two girls are beautiful and have great spirit!

There tends to be a calmness in the portraits.  Something we all need on a daily basis.  Of course getting crazy, jumping around and wearing fabulous clothes for a portrait is fun too.  Don't get me wrong, we were plenty goofy during this shoot.  And these girls yucked it up pretty good with us!  Thanks for coming in girls, we hope you had as much fun as we did!

Mary Poppins visited us today.

Each day brings us something new and today was no exception.  The studio was humming with guests today and our last session was the beautiful Mrs. Bailey and her fabulous parents.  She was a little shy at first but man did she turn on the charm in her little Marry Poppins coat and handbag.

We kept everything pretty simple so that nothing distracted from the enormous amounts of cuteness!  Thanks for coming Bailey, we hope you had as much fun as Leanne, Kristen and I did today.  Hope you don't get sick eating all 13 servings of your giant lollipop today.

Holidays in full swing

Now that our big Girls Night Out event is behind us we have started our holiday season in full swing.  Recently the Staton kids came by had a grand ol time with the snow.

These two are some real characters and their laughs really make the studio a happy place!  Their PJs were the bomb with holiday cheer.

Emma Kate even flashed that pretty smile our way so I am sure grandma will be tickled about that.

Easton is the man with his charm and big blue eyes.

We have really enjoyed watching these two kids grow up.  They are one of our favorite loyal customers that always brightens our day when they come in the door.  Thanks Jennifer for stopping by.  We hope you love your preview!
