21 Days Until Christmas

During the holidays it seems like I am constantly working.  Fortunately I get to see my kids a lot and they hang out with me at the studio in the afternoon some days.  Recently Whitney wanted to decorate the studio with Christmas art.  I told her to draw me a picture of a tree and decorate it with lots of ornaments. 

When she finished drawing, I then scanned the piece and printed it on our large format printer as a 24X36 print.  The kids were so excited when they saw the drawing almost as big as James.  When we got home the kids immediately got tape and taped the drawing on the wall. 

Probably the best part of the whole deal was listening to Whitney explain the process to her mother.  She wanted to make sure that Denise saw the red thing at the bottom as a rug and the blue at the top as the ceiling.  When asked about the clouds on the wall she said, "It doesn’t matter I like the clouds being inside and daddy says its not wrong."  I was proud to hear her explanation and artist integrity.
